Entropy Theory

Entropy Theory

Entropy Theory studies entropy as a fundamental measure of disorder, uncertainty, or irreversibility in physical systems. Entropy quantifies the number of microscopic configurations consistent with macroscopic states. The second law of thermodynamics states that entropy tends to increase in isolated systems. Entropy theory explains irreversibility, equilibrium, and energy degradation. It connects thermodynamics with statistical mechanics and information theory. Entropy plays a central role in heat engines, phase transitions, and cosmology. Modern interpretations extend entropy to computation and communication systems. Understanding entropy provides deep insight into the arrow of time and physical limits of processes. Entropy theory remains one of the most profound concepts in physics.
