Optical Resonators

Optical Resonators are structures that confine light by repeated reflection, allowing certain wavelengths to resonate. They are fundamental components in lasers and optical filters. Optical resonators enhance light–matter interaction by increasing optical intensity within a confined region. Key parameters include resonance frequency, quality factor, and mode structure. Optical resonators are used in spectroscopy, sensing, and frequency stabilization. They enable precise control of light properties and improve system efficiency. Advances in micro- and nano-scale resonators have expanded applications in photonics and quantum optics. Optical resonators play a central role in modern optical technology and experimental physics.
