Quantum Gravity

Quantum Gravity

Quantum Gravity seeks to unify general relativity with quantum mechanics into a single consistent theoretical framework. While general relativity describes gravity at macroscopic scales, quantum mechanics governs microscopic phenomena. Combining these theories is necessary to understand extreme environments such as black hole interiors and the early universe. Quantum gravity explores how spacetime behaves at the smallest possible scales. It predicts that classical notions of smooth spacetime may break down near fundamental length scales. Various theoretical approaches exist, each attempting to reconcile gravity with quantum principles. Quantum gravity is not yet experimentally verified, making it one of the greatest open problems in physics. Progress in this field could revolutionize understanding of space, time, and matter.
