Turbulence

Turbulence

Turbulence refers to complex, chaotic fluid motion characterized by vortices and rapid fluctuations. It is a fundamental challenge in fluid dynamics and physics. Turbulence occurs in atmospheric flows, ocean currents, and engineering systems. Understanding turbulence is essential for predicting fluid behavior and energy dissipation. Turbulence theory focuses on statistical descriptions rather than exact solutions. Physics seeks to identify universal patterns and scaling laws in turbulent flows. Turbulence impacts aerodynamic drag, heat transfer, and mixing efficiency. Despite extensive research, turbulence remains an open problem in classical physics. Studying turbulence combines experimental observation, theory, and numerical simulation.
